CHRISTIAN
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

A ministry of
First Baptist Church, Phenix City, Alabama, the Christian Child Development
Center (C.C.D.C.) was created to serve children ages six weeks though twelve
years. With a supportive, Christian environment, the Center offers
age-appropriate classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged
children. C.C.D.C. is the only faith based center in Phenix City that is
licensed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources. C.C.D.C. complies with
all policies and procedures established for staff-pupil ratios, teacher
training, and health and safety regulations. Of the faculty, 54% of the teachers
have been with the center for over five years. All staff must meet the training
standards required by the State of Alabama and are certified in CPR/First Aide.
The staff of C.C.D.C. were among the first in the State to be awarded the
Alabama Early Learning Guidelines Credential. This is part of the no child left
behind program implemented by President Bush.
Located on the spacious campus of First Baptist
Church, the center is contained within two separate buildings. The Annex is
equipped to serve our infants and toddlers. Infant and toddler classes furnish a
variety of sensory motor and preoperational experiences fostering the growth and
development of children up to approximately thirty months of age. Our main
building holds Preschool and school-aged children and has a gymnasium for
rainy-day activities. Daily lesson plans, schedules, and calendars are followed
to offer enriching and stimulating activities for the students.
An Outreach Ministry of First Baptist Church, the
Christian Child Development Center attempts to meet the intellectual, physical,
social, and spiritual needs of young children. The Center is open weekdays
between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Visits from parents and other community members are
welcomed.
