Curriculum:
Our school
uses the Christian Journey Wonder-filled Weekday Curriculum, These lesson plans
integrate developmentally appropriate activities with religious development and
are designed to help teachers make faith connections. The lesson plans are
organized around monthly seasonal themes. C.C.D.C. is preparing children for
school and life through activities that focus on the development of the whole
child cognitively, socially and emotionally. Infants and toddlers learn by
experiencing the environment through all senses. They are encouraged to move and
interact with people and the environment, where the child can build confidence
and develop positive and trusting relationships within a warm loving
environment. This curriculum promotes development of school readiness skills for
our preschool children. It fosters a natural love for learning and encourages
the child through age appropriate materials. Each lesson has goals, objectives,
faith connections, Bible Verses, teacher prayer, center time, including writing,
math, art, worship, home living and building centers. This curriculum will help
children create a strong foundation of lifelong learning and to know GOD and His
love through JESUS CHRIST.
School Age:
C.C.D.C. has an innovative program
for before and after school, school holidays and summer months. We provide
transportation to and from most local schools. We offer homework time,
supervised activities and child-directed play designed to meet the ever-changing
needs of today’s active children in a safe and friendly environment. On school
holidays and summer months we offer a full-day schedule of fun and educational
activities and field trips such as skating, movies, bowling, Chuck E. Cheese,
Monkey Joes, water slide, Montgomery Zoo, Little White House, Springer and more,
something everyday to instill learning in a creative, relaxed and fun
atmosphere.
Preschool:

Each morning during our school year,
August – May, we begin the day with chapel, where the children enjoy a time of
Praise, Prayer and Worship.
In December, the children perform a
Christmas program for family and friends to come and enjoy the holiday season
with them.
Every May, our K-2, KMG, and K-3
Preschool class’s will showcase what they have been learning all year with a big
celebration performance. That same evening the K-4 Class will have graduation
complete with cap and gowns.
